We keep training sessions very short and reward often when they're learning something new. We practice their skills daily with at least one formal individual training session. Once a puppy has mastered a skill, we begin working on new ones to keep training interesting.

As the puppies begin mastering skills, we will do random pop quizzes asking them to perform a skill when they're not expecting it like during playtime. It's a great way to teach the puppies that listening to their person doesn't only happen during quiet 1 on 1 training time.
It's absolutely incredible just how much a young puppy can learn in only a few weeks. Every puppy is able to perform Sit, Down, and Stand without the use of a lure by the age of 7/8 weeks*.

We start to teach the puppies recall at 3 weeks old*. How on Earth can we do that? Easy, we say "Come Here" every time they eat a meal. Puppies LOVE to eat so they always move quickly to their food. They soon begin to associate "Come Here" to mean it's food time. Eventually, we're able to get the same enthusiastic run towards us when they hear "Come Here."

The puppies are introduced to walking on a leash at 8 weeks old. By the time they're 9 weeks old that can successfully walk beside their handler for short decisions.
