Up until this point our puppies have been allowed to mostly just come and go inside of their crates. We fill them with fun toys to create a welcoming atmosphere for our pups. They have also already begun to spend small amount of time confined in the crate when they are enjoying their bones.
Now we ask the puppies for a little more and will start to put them down for naps inside of individual crates. Our puppies do not spend the night in their crates yet because we want to be able to fully supervise them, but they are building a strong foundation to understanding the crate is an enjoyable place to relax and sleep.
